Background story of Natasha Guy

Over 8 years ago I was unfit and very out of shape, I wanted to start a family but, due to a health condition (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), was advised by my doctor to lose weight. Unfortunately the same condition made it very difficult to lose weight.

I started to run, one lamppost to the next to begin with and slowly began to improve. I learnt about healthy lifestyles and changed the way I was eating. I began to recognise that not only was my fitness improving, my quality of life was increasing. I developed a love of fitness and wanted to share this with others around me.

Despite being fast tracked for career development in a large multi-national insurance company, I decided to leave my successful career to share my newly found love of fitness with other people. I started studying part time at the New Zealand College of fitness which I graduated from in 2007 and started my business, Balance for Life Ltd.

I have adapted Balance for Life, a thriving small business designed around my decision to be a mother and be at home for my family.

I became a mother in April 2009 mother with my daughter Molly and have put in place support with the help of great friends and family that provide in home care. With careful management I am able to have a wonderful balance of work and family life.

My work as a trainer has gone from strength to strength with great results from my clients in competitions and I have won various awards.

In 2010 I competed in the IFBB South Island championships in the figure category, which I really enjoyed and I’m looking forward to competing again.

Recent Developments

At the end of 2010 I with my family to Dunedin and relocated Balance for Life to a new studio.

2011 has been spend building up business in Dunedin as well as welcoming my second child Toby into the world.

I am currently training towards two body sculpting compitions in may 2012, you can read more about my journey on my blog
